CMC is the premier venue for presenting innovative experiences and research related to concept mapping, attracting every two years a large number of high-quality submissions and participants from a broad range of fields, from both industry and academia. It is aimed at all persons interested in the use of concept maps (based on the work of Dr. Joseph Novak), including, but not limited to: facilitation of learning; eliciting, capturing, archiving, and using "expert" knowledge; planning instruction; assessment of "deep" understandings; research planning; collaborative knowledge modelling; creation of "knowledge portfolios"; curriculum design; eLearning, and administrative and strategic planning; concept mapping during the pandemic era and hybrid learning environment and monitoring.

After not being able to hold the 2020 conference because of the pandemic, the concept mapping community (Cmappers) will reconvene in Valletta, Malta, from Sept. 26-28, 2022, for the 9th International Conference on Concept Mapping. This conference follows the success of the eight worldwide conferences on Concept Mapping held in Pamplona (Spain), San José (Costa Rica), Tallinn (Estonia) / Helsinki (Finland), Viña del Mar (Chile), Valletta (Malta), Santos (Brazil), Tallinn (Estonia), Medellín (Colombia), and the regional Asian-Pacific conference held in 2017 in Beijing (China), in bringing together scholars and practitioners interested in concept mapping.

For CMC2022 we plan to hold both presential and online sessions to accommodate the pandemic situation. We will be holding sessions in English and Spanish, although simultaneous translation will not be available. In this announcement, we present the Languages in which presentations will be accepted, the Categories of submissions and the Submission Dates. CMC2022 is being organized by the University of Malta (Malta), the Concept Mapping Academy (Estonia), IHMC (USA) and Tallinn University (Estonia).

Languages: CMC2022 offers the opportunity for presentations in English and Spanish. However, simultaneous translation will not be available. There will be separate tracks for presentations in English and presentations in Spanish.

Presentation Modes: Presentations can be made in-person, at the sessions at the University of Malta, or online. We will also allow the submission of both Full Papers and Posters/Short Papers without a presentation for those authors who will not be able to attend in person or online, or for some reason do not want to present. These submissions without presentations will be included in the Proceedings.

Presentation Categories:

1.       Full Paper with Oral Presentation

2.       Full Paper (without Oral Presentation)

3.       Innovative Experience with Oral Presentation

4.       Innovative Experience (without Oral Presentation)

5.       Poster with Paper

6.       Poster without Paper

7.       Poster without Presentation (short paper)

For each of these categories, there will be both in-person presentations at the site and online virtual presentations. All submissions will be evaluated and selected by the Program Committee.
